His music was very formative for me in my early days of learning to love Jesus. I’ll be glad to tell him of the times when the words and music he wrote in praise of Jesus or the struggle of discipleship either spoke to me or for me. Can’t wait to meet him.
I admire his work, both humorous and travel-oriented. I’d just like to have the chance to thank him for it, express my appreciation and buy him a muffin to go with his coffee. That’s all.
Somehow I’ve unconsciously modeled my teaching and storytelling persona after his standup act. I loved his stuff since I was young, and have since mangaged to successfully tackle juggling, balloon sculpture, banjo and that self-aware style of comedy that I use in my classroom and performances. Now, I know that he’s probably very different from the act he puts on, but I’d like to meet him so that I could treat him to a Coke and fries and thank him for his work. It’s been beneficial to me.
